The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Video ROCK!

Trouble Shooting- a.k.a. HELP!

You’re running into a problem but wait! Don’t panic! The Kidz Bop Squad is here to answer some of your most common trouble shooting issues:

Q: Ahh! My webcam doesn’t work!

A. Having trouble getting your webcam to work on KidzBop.com? Have no fear! Trouble Shooting Tips are here! Double check to make sure your webcam is hooked up to your computer (doh!) and follow these steps:

If you're a PC user, the webcam should show up automatically on the site. If it doesn't, use the following steps:

  • 1. Right-click on the Flash widget and select “settings”
  • 2. Click the webcam icon on right-most part of menu bar
  • 3. Select the option that results in video being shown

If you're using a Mac and see a black screen when you get up to step #4, you must do this first:

  • 1. Ctrl-mouse click on the Flash widget and select “settings”
  • 2. Click webcam icon on the right side of menu bar. There is a drop-down with the following options: DV Video, IIDC Firewire Video, USB Video Class Video.
  • 3. “DV Video” is usually selected automatically. If you have a built-in webcam, you must select USB Video Class Video. Once that is selected, you will see actual images in the capture windows instead of black. Close the settings and you're good to go.

Q. I uploaded my video, but when will I see it on KidzBop.com?

A. When you’re done uploading your video, it will need to be approved by THE KIDZ BOP SQUAD before you’re able to see it on the site. This will usually happen within a day or two. When your video is approved your parent will get an e-mail alert and the video will show up on you’re My Channel page, and in the video section of the site!
While you wait, why not play some games or watch other videos?

Q. Hey! It’s been a few days and I still don’t see my video on KidzBop.com.     What happened to it?

A. Aw man! Have you checked you’re My Channel page? Do you still not see it? Well, if your video was correctly uploaded your parent should have received two e-mails, one e-mail telling them that you have submitted a video to KidzBop.com and a second video letting them know that the video was approved and posted to the site.
If you looked far and wide for the confirmation e-mail and still can’t find it, then chances are your video was either uploaded wrong or did not follow the Kidz Bop Rules. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you upload your next video to KidzBop.com (if your video includes any of the things below it will NOT be posted to the site):

  1. ABSOLUTELY NO personally identifiable information. This means any thing that allows someone to know who you are or find you in the real world and includes:

    • - Your full name (no last names, your first name ONLY is okay),
    • - Your address, phone number, email address, personal website, the city or state where you live or the name of your school.

It’s super important to stay safe online- read our Internet Safety section for more.

  2. Don’t gossip or talk trash about other kids you know. Bullying- either online or offline- is so not cool. We’re all about having fun on KidzBop.com.

  3. Please do not include URLs to other websites in your video.

  4. NO violence, dangerous stunts, obscene material, negative stereo types, offensive language or offensive lyrics. Some sites might let that slide, but we won’t.

  5. NO copyrighted material. We love Sponge Bob and Hannah Montana as much as you do, but please don’t post any TV or movie clips or any other copyrighted material you’ve found. We wanna see YOUR videos, not some one else’s!
